Designer: Poul Henningsen, 1932
PH Snake Chair
The design of the Snake Chair is compact yet strong, due to the spiral shape of the frame that resembles that of a coiled snake. Featuring sensuous fluid lines realised in the smoothest of chromed steel and devoid of harsh angles, the Snake Chair sits harmoniously with the widest variety of interiors. Designed in 1932. Individually numbered. The PH Snake Chair is available in three different types: with a full leather upholstery around the steel tubes or with a leather upholstery and visible steel tubes as well as with seat and back in wood and the visible steel tubes that highlights the unique design. The leather and wood can be delivered in different colours.

Form and Function: a Danish Design Icon.
Steel tube furniture designed by Poul Henningsen was first introduced in 1932 at “Koebestaevnet” in Frederica, Denmark, the leading national Industrial Fair of this era. Poul Henningsen’s design concept based around free-flowing spirals is a constantly recurring theme within his work, in both the furniture, the lamps, the houses and the exhibition architecture. The Snake Chair’s flowing lines within it’s steel tube design are inspired by the strong yet flexible body of a snake.
It is multi-use and fits any room at home, in the apartment, in the office with a function or simply as a piece of art to be admired for generations to come. The Snake chair is available in chromed steel tubes and can be ordered with two types of leather upholstery finishes: with full upholstery around the steel tubes or with the steel tube visible highlighting the form and shapes of the unique design.
